The Urban Televillage was created by North East Workspace - a subsidiary of the PNE group.

It has been created as a place for design and multimedia businesses to work and live. All of the firms in the Televillage have access to state of the art communications technology via the "Big Netty" facility.

The number of information and communications technology related businesses which are based in the Urban Televillage led to the site being nicknamed "Silicon Alley".

This website is all about the Silicon Alley project and its location in an urban and historical setting. Here you will find information about the premises, the businesses based there, details of the Urban Televillage project and the history of the development of the site from Roman times to the present day.
